Apple releases the iPod Nano and iPod Touch updates for 2012
With all the hype surrounding the release of the iPhone 5 it’s quite easy to forget that Apple release a few other products in their keynote presentation last week. Half of Apple’s iPod range also received a refresh with the iPod nano getting quite a re model. The iPod Touch Apple’s main MP3 player and mini web browsing device already has the largest share of the MP3 player market, it is more than likely that Apple was just trying to strength it’s lead in the market with this refresh.
iPod touch
Apple has made some massive improvements here now marketing this device as a portable gaming machine instead of an MP3 player and with what’s inside the device this isn’t very surprising. The iPod touch is now running of an A5 processor and has the same 4inch retina display as the iPhone 5. With a thinner model than the phone and a weight of only 88g this is definitely a nice toy to consider. The iPod Touch also includes Siri and a 5MP camera as well as another front facing camera. This device really has seen quite an upgrade.
As you can see from the image above it is also available in several different colors. In the same 32GB and 64GB as the previous generation, this thing is clear much more than an MP3 player.
iPod Nano
I have to say I do like this one a lot. Picture an iPod touch then shrink it down a lot! With only 6 icons displayed on the home screen this mini touch is very cute device indeed. Other than the obvious redesign of the actually shell of the iPod Nano the device also now comes with the Nike Fitness app and an FM tuner pre installed. Once again like the touch this products comes in several different colors, with Christmas just around the corner this would be a very nice little device to get.
All the new iPod’s also now come with the next lightening dock connector as well as the newly designed Apple Ear Pods.
