Facebook new Camera App for iOS, iPad review

Facebook Camera App for iOS works on all iOS power devices, such as iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. While there are plenty of image enhancement applications available for iOS gadgets, Facebook Camera has the advantage of being tied to the popular social network, that now sports over 900 million users.

Playing with the features

Playing with Facebook Camera App is pretty much like playing with Photoshop, only that it is much simpler. You can use various filters, you can crop parts of an image, you can zoom in on some details, and you can do a lot of various things with your pictures.

Is there a novelty factor?

Unfortunately, Facebook Camera App for iPad is not something new or groundbreaking. Users that are already familiar with the applications available for iPad and other iOS devices will not find any incredible or innovative features that they cannot find on any other similar application. However, Facebook Camera has the ability to enhance your photo sharing experience when you are using the social network, so this might be something to interest people more than the actual capabilities of this application.

No advantages from using the larger screen

On the not so bright side, the fact that you can use Facebook Camera on your iPad does not bring any advantages in terms of using a bigger screen. It seems that Facebook development team for applications has not considered this issue when they put together the new Camera app. You will experience any tremendous differences from an iPhone, and you will gain access to the same features, without anything new included.

The interface

As you start the application, you will have to log in using your nickname and password for your Facebook account. Once there, you will be showed a fairly easy and intuitive user interface, featuring two panels. On the top window, you will see all your pictures, and you will be able to navigate through them. On the bottom, you will see your friend’s pictures, and you will be able to look at them, as well. In order to take full advantage of the features, you will have the picture of your choosing zoomed out on the screen. In case you want to return to the first screen, where you also have access to the camera roll, you only need to tap on the status bar on top. All the cool abilities of the iPad will help you navigate through your pictures and through your feeds to your heart’s content. The top and bottom windows can minimize and maximize in order to provide you with the best experience.

Extra features

Facebook Camera is not only about sharing pictures. Using the same philosophy that the social network is powered by, the app allows you to type messages, to tag your friends or to send out information about your location. The editing screen is very intuitive and it allows you to modify images as you see fit, then save them on your camera roll.
