Minecraft has been around for a couple of years, and since its first version it has turned into a number one favorite game of gamers worldwide. Unfortunately, the engine used by the game may run differently under different operating systems, and that’s the main reason Minecraft has several different versions released for a broad range of operating systems. The latest Minecraft version is about to be released on July 29, 2015, and it will be the official version for Microsoft’s Windows 10.
Microsoft’s new operating system has been receiving a lot of criticism over the past couple of month, but the release of a separate Minecraft version may make us ask ourselves whether the problems are because of the operating system or because of the way most applications are programmed to work. We already have Minecraft versions for the PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows, Mac, Windows Phone, iOS, and Android, but we are sure that many gamers will be exalted when the Windows 10 version of Minecraft is released in the end of the month.
Experts in the field of online gaming have jokingly dubbed Minecraft, Microsoft’s Tetris. However, if you take a closer look, you’ll see that this is just about true. Microsoft acquired Mojang, the Swedish studio behind Minecraft, and since then the game has been optimized for every Microsoft platform available, including HoloLens.
The Minecraft Windows 10 Edition will feature a broad range of optimizations whose goal is to provide players with a smooth gaming experience that won’t be troubled by glitches, FPS drops, and similar issues. The Windows 10 version of the popular game will also feature improved touch screen optimization, better controller/keyboard/mouse controls, and a revamped online play system that’ll be able to work with both Xbox Live and Minecraft Pocket Edition. In short, the Minecraft Windows 10 Edition may turn out to be the perfect mixture between Minecraft’s mobile and desktop gameplay.
The good news for the avid fans of Minecraft doesn’t end here. According to Microsoft officials, everyone who owns the PC version of Minecraft will get the Windows 10 Edition for free. Many gamers worldwide will be relieved to hear that they won’t have to spend more money to play their favorite game. The future updates of the Minecraft Windows 10 Edition will come for free too. We are sure that there will be many other great surprises to accompany the release of Minecraft Windows 10 Edition, but unfortunately we’ll have to wait until the end of the month to learn more about Minecraft’s exciting new version.
