Despite its good reputation, Sony PlayStation 3 is an aging console but it is still pretty relevant product of the corporation of Sony. The living proof of this was when a Super Slim version of the device was released last month. It has the same specifications but the only difference comes from its slimmer size.
This increased all of the rumors that Sony might not release Play Station 4 next year, as it was predicted. In fact some people believe that the game will be released in 2015 and the delay might be even bigger. According to Fergal Gara, Managing Director of PlayStation UK, Sony has some problems supporting PS Vita, PS3 and at the same time developing PlayStation4.
Mr. Gara said to CVG that there are too many platforms that have to be developed and supported and this is why there are some really important decisions that should be taken. He also stated that Sony has big chances to support PS3 in Europe, even though the sales in USA have decreased in the last couple of months. Gara said that Sony is definitely not going to run away from the business with gaming consoles simply because it is considered as one of the current leaders.
Even though Sony still sees the popularity of PS3, the company might want to act a little bit faster than the planned in order to avoid overshadowing by Nintendo or Microsoft and their new gaming console versions.
