Sony Xperia Tipo and Sony Xperia Tipo Dual Officially Launched
The new Sony smartphones are already available for purchase in India. The Sony Xperia Tipo was available for pre-order earlier in October and its price was just $178 If you want to purchase this phone now, you’ll need to pay $186 if you want to purchase the Sony Xperia Tipo Dual.
Both devices share the same specifications the only advantage of the Sony Xperia Tipo Dual is that it can work with two SIM cards. The XSony peria Tipo features a 3.2” T FT display which supports a 480×320 resolution and runs the old Android 4. The single-core 800MHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon processor is supported by 512MB of RAM. The phone has 2.5GB internal storage, but it can be expanded with up to 32GB thanks to the microSD slot. By purchasing this phone you’ll also receive 50GB cloud storage for unlimited time.

The 3.2MP rear camera supports auto-focus. The connection options of the Sony Xperia Tipo are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G. The Sony Xperia Tipo is available in black, red, blue and white while the Sony Xperia Tipo Dual comes only in two colors – silver and black. The devices come pre-loaded with a handful of applications – Cricbuzz, appXtra and Bollywood Hungama are some of the more interesting names.

Kenichiro Hibi, managing director at Sony India stated: “Our goal is to meet the demands of the public and we think we’ve achieved this thanks to the Xperia Tipo which is a functional, handsome and inexpensive device.” He also stated that these new phones target the youth and this is the reason for their low price.
Earlier in 2012, Sony announced that they will announce many new additions to their phones. It is expected that the release of Xperia Tipo, an entry-level smartphone, will be followed by fancier and more expensive devices. Sony’s new device will have a lot of competition in the market as it has to compete with the LG Optimus L3, HTC Wildfire S, Samsung Galaxy Ace and the HTC Desire C. However, the Xperia Tipo has one huge advantage over the other devices – it runs the Android 4.0 while the rest use the old Android 2.3. Technical specifications of the Sony Xperia Tipo:
